How BELKYRA Works
BELKYRA injections contain a naturally occurring molecule called deoxycholic acid, which aids in digestion by breaking down dietary fat. When it is injected into the fat beneath the chin, BELKYRA destroys fat cells. As the cells break down, the body gradually eliminates them through its normal metabolic process. Once destroyed, these fat cells are gone for good.
How fat dissolving injections work
A double chin can be a hereditary factor, even an aggressive diet and exercise may not result in satisfactory chin fat removal. In the past, medical treatment generally involved surgical removal using a liposuction technique.
Belkyra™ treatment is a different approach.
Your body produces a substance called deoxycholic acid, which helps to break down fats in the digestive tract so they can be absorbed. Belkyra™ is synthetic deoxycholic acid. This prescription medicine is injected into the submental area, where it destroys fat cells.
What to expect from double chin removal
At Vanguard Medical & Aesthetic Clinic, treatment is performed by an experienced injector. It begins with an examination, review of your medical history, and consultation. If you are a suitable candidate for Belkyra™, the doctor designs a customized treatment plan.
The quantity and placement of multiple small injections and the number of sessions (three treatments, spaced at least a month apart) are tailored to your needs.
A typical treatment takes only 15 to 20 minutes.
The treatment area is numbed, so you remain comfortable.
You may return to work or other activities after your appointment.
Some patients experience swelling, bruising, or numbness, but these side effects are temporary. The doctor will talk with you about other less common but possible side effects.
You begin to see change within twelve weeks of the first session, with continued improvement for several weeks after the final treatment.
Once treated cells are eliminated by the body's natural processes, they can no longer store fat, so results are long-lasting. Periodic maintenance treatment is generally NOT needed.
Both men and women (at least 18 years of age) can benefit from Belkyra™.
What to Expect from Belkyra Recovery?
Expect to have some bruising, swelling, inflammation, pain, redness, and temporary numbness at the injection site. Less common complications include difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), skin ulceration, temporary nerve injury, and temporary or permanent beard hair loss; the swelling usually lasts a few days.
Most people can get back to regular activity right after the procedure. Your doctor might ask you to wear a compression garment to help with swelling. Apart from that, there aren't any specific requirements for the recovery phase. It is a reasonably non-invasive treatment with no severe side effects or long-term recovery.

Kybella (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and nonsurgical treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called, "double chin."
How does Kybella work?
The active ingredient in KYBELL is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELL causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
How many treatments will I need?
You and your registered nurse will customize your KYBELLA treatment regimen, including how many treatments you need, based on your desired chin profile. buy kybella. Your doctor will give you a series of injections at each treatment session, which are spaced a month or more apart. Many patients experience visible contouring of their chin profile in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart.
Treatment options for submental fullness (more commonly known as a "double chin") used to be pretty limited. If you were bothered by fat under your chin, you could either have liposuction surgery to remove it, or you had to learn to live with it.
But all of that changed in 2015, when the FDA approved a breakthrough drug called Kybella to non-surgically treat unwanted fat under the chin.
In the past few years, Kybella has been incredibly well received, as it offers men and women who feel insecure about their double chins a solution that doesn't involve anesthesia, incisions or recovery downtime.
Kybella's active ingredient is a substance called deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule that helps break down and absorb dietary fat.
When injected into the chin, it permanently destroys the fat cells. This causes the area to look noticeably slimmer in the weeks and months following treatment. Reducing fat under the chin also helps define the jawline and the transition between the chin and the neck, giving it a more elegant contour.
Kybella can be administered during a quick, in-office appointment. You do not need to do anything special to prepare for the appointment.
After cleansing the area, the injector will make multiple small injections under your chin. The amount of Kybella and number of injections needed depends on the amount of fat under the chin as well as the results you hope to achieve. The entire injection process should take no longer than 15 to 20 minutes.
Usually a series of treatments is needed to see optimal results. The number of treatments you will need depends on the amount and distribution of the fat under your chin and your treatment goals. Each treatment will be spaced about a month apart.
Kybella aftereffects can include mild swelling, bruising and numbness in the area underneath the chin. Serious side effects, such as trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw, are very rare.
